Douma Celebrates Earth Day

Douma Celebrates Earth Day

On Friday, students will have the opportunity to participate in Earth Day activities during their art, music, or PE time. Students will be divided into three groups and go through stations with activities designed to promote Earth Day.

Activities will include:  creating a school hand-printed world (each student will print their hand on a large poster circle and when done will represent the land and water of our earth; playing a game of "Clean Up Your Yard" with different PE objects representing different things that you might find in your yard to pick up, and lastly, playing a game of "Recyclables or Not," a sorting game for items that should be recycled or put in the trash.

"I hope it is a fun way to highlight the responsibility we have to take care of our earth," said Ruth Thomas, PE teacher.
