Kindergarten through eighth grade students are encouraged to enter inventions for the upcoming Ottumwa Invention Convention. The annual event, hosted by Ottumwa’s Talented and Gifted department, will be held Monday, March 2 from 5:45 - 8 p.m. in the Ottumwa High School cafeteria. The snow date for this event is Tuesday, March 3. Judging will take place from 6 - 7 p.m. The public is invited to view the inventions from 7 - 7:30 p.m. An awards presentation will follow with the winning inventors being presented with medals, sponsored by John Deere Ottumwa Works.
Entry forms are available in each school office. Students must return the forms by Monday, February 23. Questions should be directed to the Invention Convention Coordinator, Breanna Hinmon, at Liberty Elementary (641-682-4502).
