Message From the Principal
Welcome to Eisenhower Elementary
Our school has a population of 239 students in kindergarten through fifth grade. We have two sections for each grade level kindergarten through 5th grade. Additionally, we have teachers who provide the following services for our students: PE, Art, Music, Instrumental, Special Education, Talented and Gifted and Counseling.
The school campus includes a 3.5 acre naturalized wetland. The Rainbow Castle of Fun, a wooden play structure, can be used by the students for creative and imaginative adventures as well as to exercise their muscles. A large area of green space is available for additional types of sports activities. We certainly hope the neighborhood and community of Ottumwa take advantage of using the wonderful outdoor facilities provided on our campus.
The Eisenhower administration, faculty and staff welcome parent involvement and encourage you to become a part of your child’s education in any way that you can. We have a very active and supportive PTA, which supports our school by raising funds for additional materials, equipment, and extended classroom experiences. Please visit with the PTA officers to find out how to become involved in school activities. You can also visit with your child’s classroom teacher to find out ways to support learning in the classroom as well.
Please feel welcome to visit our school at any time. We look forward to developing great family/school communication to help the students learn and grow. As you browse on our website and find you have suggestions for us, please let us know by contacting Dana Warnecke.
