Student Council Helps Dog Bite Victim

An Ottumwa boy recently received support from students who don't even know him.

The Eisenhower Student Council learned about a Wilson Elementary student who was attacked by a dog. The victim, Terry White, sustained several bites, had over 200 stitches, and missed a few weeks of school. The students wanted to do something to make him feel better. Using funds earned during a weekly gum fundraiser, students purchased games, gifts, and apparel for White. Two students then made a surprise visit to White at school on Monday and presented him with the gifts.
