What are School Counselors?

School Counselors are a type of helper in your school.  We help kids with things like problem solving, understanding feelings and making friends.

What do School Counselors do?

• Manage K-12 articulated comprehensive school counseling programs as defined by the American School Counselor Association model and the Iowa School Counseling Guide.
• Teach, monitor and plan interventions for increased achievement of all K-12 students.
• Provide leadership to accomplish the district's mission and school improvement plans.
• Report and interpret student results in achievement, attendance and behavior.

Children will not remember you for the material things you provided but for the feeling that you cherished them.
