Late yesterday afternoon, Ottumwa High School principal, Cory Johnson, was made aware of a rumor involving the potential threat made against another student. The rumor was investigated by OHS administrators and Ottumwa Police Department. Parents and students were interviewed until late last night. According to Johnson, the rumor has been fully investigated and there is nothing credible. “We, along with the Ottumwa Police Department, are confident that there is no credible threat to our students or staff,” he said.
“The district reminds the community that all rumors of possible violence are taken seriously and investigated fully,” said Superintendent Nicole Kooiker.
