The Ottumwa Board of Education met in special session on Wednesday, March 18. Due to the coronavirus, the meeting was held at Evans but live streamed to allow the community to observe.
The board heard a report from Superintendent Kooiker in regards to hourly and salaried staff during this 30 day school closure, mandated by Governor Kim Reynolds last week. Kooiker also shared updates on providing meals to students and child care.
The board voted to continue to pay all scheduled hourly employees through April 13.
