Welcome to Liberty Elementary

Dear Families,

On behalf of the entire Liberty Elementary family, welcome to the 2019-2020 school year! We look forward to working collaboratively with you to ensure that your child is achieving his/her full potential in and out of the classroom. We know how important the school and home partnership is to the success of every student and we are ready to make this year one of the best yet! You can assist us by:

  • Help us by ensuring your child arrives to school on time and ready to learn. The building is open for students at 7:45 a.m. and classes start at 8:10 a.m.
  • Successful students complete all assignments given by teachers.
  • As parents, please talk with your child about what he/she learned that day and any upcoming assignments.
  • Remember to speak positively to your child about the importance of education and their power to achieve.

One of our main concerns for all of our children is their safety. We have rules and procedures in place that we feel will lead to a safe learning environment for all. Please make sure to follow these procedures, especially when it comes to morning drop off and after-school pick up. We want to make sure to follow these procedures so that children will learn from watching what we do. If we as adults can better follow the procedures it will make the mornings and after school much smoother and safer for all children.

It is our mission at Liberty Elementary School as a part of the Ottumwa School District to Engage, Educate and Empower Every Student Every Day. Partner with us to make this mission a reality! Here's to a great school year!
