McCune and Reed, Inc. recently delivered a dividend check to Ottumwa Community Schools for their participation in the Iowa Association of School Boards’ (IASB) Safety Group Insurance Program.
The IASB Safety Group Insurance Program, which serves more than 320 public school districts, area education agencies and community colleges across Iowa, is underwritten by EMC Insurance Companies (EMC) and managed by Jester Insurance Services, both headquartered in Des Moines, Iowa.
Dividends in the IASB program are calculated each year and are earned based upon the overall claims experience of program members. The total dividend earned by members in 2017 was $5,252,64.
“EMC is pleased to pay a dividend again this year to members of the IASB Safety Group Insurance Program,” said John Schumacher, EMC Resident Vice President and Des Moines Branch manager. “Since 1974, schools in this program have collectively earned more than $95 million in dividends. This program continues to provide Iowa schools with unparalleled loss control services, comprehensive coverage and competitive premiums.”
Since 1946, IASB has been committed to serving Iowa school boards and public schools. As a 501c4 nonprofit organization, the association advances the goals of its members through education, advocacy and service. For more information, visit www.ia-sb.org.
