Annual Notices of Non-Discrimination
School districts are required to give all patrons several annual notices. The following is a list of state and federal notices that all districts are required to give to the public every year.
Annual Notice of Non-Discrimination
Ottumwa Community School District offers Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs in the following areas:
- Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources
- Applied Science, Technology, Engineering, and Manufacturing
- Business, Finance, Marketing, and Management
- Information Solutions
- Health Sciences and Human Services
Admission to these programs is based on student interest, age appropriateness, and course prerequisites.
Non-Discrimination Policy
It is the policy of the Ottumwa Community School District not to discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, or disability in its Career and Technical Education programs, services, or activities, as required by:
- Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended
- Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972
- Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended
The District also does not illegally discriminate on the basis of:
- Race
- Color
- National origin
- Sex
- Disability
- Religion
- Creed
- Age (employment only)
- Sexual orientation
- Pregnancy or related conditions
- Actual or potential parental, family or marital status (programs only)<
This policy applies to all educational programs and employment practices.
Language Access
Ottumwa Community School District will take appropriate steps to ensure that the lack of English language skills is not a barrier to admission or participation in any Career and Technical Education program.
