The Ottumwa Community School District will honor 27 dedicated staff members retiring at the end of the 2026 school year, celebrating a remarkable 644 combined years of service. A special recognition event will be held on Friday, May 1, 2026, at Ottumwa High School, 501 E Second Street.

A program honoring the retirees will begin at 1:45 PM in the Ottumwa High School auditorium. Those who wish to attend the recognition ceremony are encouraged to arrive at Ottumwa High School by 1:30 PM. A reception honoring the retirees will be held from 2:30–3:30 PM in the high school cafeteria, with refreshments provided. Community members, staff, families, and friends are invited to attend and help celebrate the careers and contributions of these exceptional employees.
