Update: Detailed Process for Transportation Requests

Dear Ottumwa Families,

Following up on our previous communication, I am pleased to provide you with more detailed information regarding the process for requesting transportation assistance due to not being eligible for transportation.

Detailed Process:

  1. Notification to Families: Parents may go to the District Bussing Map to determine if they are eligible for transportation.  Families may also review the following link on how to use the bussing map site. 

  2. Hazard Zone Review Request: The request form will be available on our school district website and distributed along with the notification. Families who wish to have an area reviewed to be considered for a hazardous area may do so by completing this form

  3. Submission Deadline: The deadline for submitting hazard zone review requests is August 12, 2024.  Please ensure that your request is submitted by this deadline to allow sufficient time for review and processing.

  4. Review and Approval: Our transportation team will carefully review each request and work closely with Durham to determine the best transportation solution for eligible students. Families will be notified of the outcome of their request within five business days. 

We are committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of all students, and we encourage families residing in hazard zones to take advantage of this opportunity to request transportation assistance.
