Free Meals Available to Students

Starting today, students have access to free meals through the Emergency Youth Food Program, a partnership with Ottumwa Schools, the Ottumwa YMCA, Bridge View Center, The Bridge Church, Open Bible Church, Ottumwa Regional Legacy Foundation, Fareway, United Way of Wapello County, and Food Bank of Southern Iowa.

Thirteen Ottumwa locations have been established to provide a grab and go brown bag option for students. All meals are available for approximately 10 minutes at each location, with the exception of Bridge View Center, which will have meals available for one hour.

Students can walk to the location closest to their home or can arrive by car. Students must be present to receive a meal due to federal reimbursement requirements. Meals are only available for children ages 2-18.
